What a move looks like, start to finish.
The haul is the part people see. Blocking, leveling and anchoring are where a cheap move goes wrong a year later, so we show both.

How a move works
Four steps from "I need it moved" to "it's set on the pad."
Most of the cost and most of the risk sit in the planning. We price the route before we price the truck.
Price the home and the route
Year, width, condition, how it is set now, and the roads in and out. The written quote lists permits, escorts and the set.
Permits and escorts
NCDOT MH-2 oversize permit, the county tax-paid moving permit, and SC county permits where the home crosses the line. Certified escorts scheduled to the travel windows.
Disconnect and haul
Utilities disconnected, skirting and anchors pulled, axles and hitch checked, then the haul inside the daylight and wind limits the permit sets.
Set, level, anchor
ABS pads and solid blocks under the frame, the chassis leveled, auger anchors tensioned, utilities reconnected and the skirting back on.
Homes built before June 15, 1976 predate the HUD code, and most movers, counties and parks will not accept them for relocation. We tell you where your home stands before we price it, and if it cannot move, we quote the demolition instead.

Questions we get on the first call
Straight answers, then a written quote.
How much does it cost to move a mobile home in NC?
Within North Carolina a single-wide typically runs $3,000 to $8,000 and a double-wide $7,000 to $15,000 for transport only. A full move with the set at the new site runs $5,000 to $25,000 depending on distance and width. The full cost guide breaks it down.
Do I need a permit to move a mobile home?
Yes. In North Carolina every move needs an NCDOT oversize permit under Publication MH-2 and a county tax-paid moving permit under NCGS Chapter 105. South Carolina requires a county moving permit under SC Code Section 31-17-360. We file them as part of the quote. Permits, explained.
How old can a mobile home be and still be moved?
Homes built before June 15, 1976 predate the HUD code and most counties, parks and movers will not relocate them. Newer homes move on condition, not age: frame, axles, hitch and roof. The NC age rules.
How long does a move take?
An in-county single-wide, disconnect to set, is usually one to two days once the permits clear. A double-wide adds a day for the second section and the marriage line. Permits take a few days to a week, and NCDOT limits oversize travel to daylight and calm winds.
Do you set the home at the new site, or just haul it?
Both, and we would rather do both. Blocking, leveling, anchoring and reconnecting utilities are quoted with the move so the home is buttoned up the week it lands. What a full set includes.
Do you move homes into or out of South Carolina?
Yes. We are licensed in both states and run the Upstate regularly. Cross-state moves carry two sets of permits, which the quote lists line by line. Moving across state lines.
