Tell us what the home is, where it sits and where it is going. We price the actual home and the actual route, in writing, within 24 hours.
What we are, plainly
No slogans. Here is what you are actually hiring.
Based in Asheville. We run the mountain counties and the foothills every week and haul statewide in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Transport authority in North Carolina and South Carolina, with cargo and general liability coverage on every move. Ask for the certificate with your quote.
We price the actual home and the actual route. You get a written number within 24 hours and the list of things that would move it. Nothing is quoted blind.
NCDOT MH-2 oversize permits, county tax-paid moving permits and SC county permits are filed by us, and certified escorts are scheduled to the travel windows the permit sets.
Disconnect, haul, block, level, anchor, reconnect, skirt. The crew that picks the home up is the crew that sets it.
Pre-1976 homes and homes with bad frames do not get moved by us. We say so up front and quote the demolition or removal instead.
How a move runs
Five steps, in the order they happen.
You call or send the form
Year, size, where it sits and where it is going is enough to start.
We price the home and the route
Condition, width, the roads in and out, and how many escorts the route needs. This is where the number comes from.
A written quote
Permits, escorts, the haul and the set, each as a line item, within 24 hours.
Permits, then the haul
NCDOT and county permits filed, escorts scheduled, utilities disconnected, then the move inside the daylight and wind limits.
Set, level, anchor
ABS pads and solid blocks, the chassis leveled, auger anchors tensioned, utilities reconnected and the skirting back on.
What we will tell you straight
The things a quote usually leaves out.
Whether the home can legally move at all
Homes built before June 15, 1976 predate the HUD code and most counties, parks and movers will not accept them. We check the data plate before we price. The 1976 line, explained.
What the permits actually cost and who files them
Two permits in North Carolina, one more per county in South Carolina. We file them and the quote lists them. Permits, state by state.
When removal beats a move
A home that will not survive the road is cheaper to demolish than to move and rebuild. We say which it is, even when the move would be the bigger job. What demolition costs.
Where the price moves
Distance, width, escorts, mountain grades and the set at the other end. The cost guides show the ranges and what pushes a move to the top of one. Start with the cost guide.
Under the home
What a correct set looks like.
